As a strategic partner of REWE Career, we set new standards in digital employer branding with a professional, authentic and approachable web presence.

Employees are the most important asset to any company.

This is especially true for retail companies, as their entire business model evolves towards an omni-channel experience.

Finding the right person for the right position is a very complex process. REWE asked us to completely redefine their digital hiring experience and to develop and continuously maintain the new website.

The Goals

Creating an authentic brand experience, positioning REWE as the leading employer in retail.

Simplifying search and navigation on career pages, to provide a targeted entry point for each applicant.

Optimizing for a mobile-first experience, to best meet the needs of applicants across any device.

We offer an individual entry point for every target group, from students to experienced professionals. Information relevant to the target group, employer benefits and specific job openings can be individually indexed. 

New design of REWE’s career website

Identifying the right target group(s) and defining the user journey.

MAI collected requirements from internal stakeholders and above all, users, in order to better understand their needs. Our target group for the user tests were students and trainees who had completed their studies in Germany. We were also interested in addressing young professionals who wanted to gain experience before a permanent position, through junior or trainee roles.

For both groups, it was most important that they are able to locate the job opening they’re looking for quickly and with ease, and that the description requirements for the job were both clear and understandable. During the user test, we were able to identify key moments when using the career pages and define them as follows.
